Frequently Asked Questions
What is COWBOY PIX?
We are a business concerned
with taking quality rodeo action. Our photographers
use state-of-the-art digital cameras to capture
quality photos.
All of the photographs taken are posted to
our web galleries for previewing by anyone. For
personal photos, we provide individual password
protected albums for your review. By using the
web, friends and family from across the world
can preview your photos and order the prints
they want. Ordering is easy – logon, find the
pictures you like, enter the sizes and
quantities of the ones you want, confirm your
order via our secure Internet connections and in
a couple of weeks you'll receive your pictures. No
worrying about returning proofs, wondering what
they’ll look like or any of the other
traditional hassles.
How Exactly Do I Order
Prints?
You can order your prints
by using any of 3 methods: Using the online
secure ordering system, printing an order form
and mailing it to us, or by calling us at
918-773-8865. When using the printed order form
or when calling, please make sure to note the
event and picture number, as well as the
quantity and size of each print you’d like.
When Can I Expect My
Order?
Normally, you will receive
your ordered prints within about two weeks. On
occasion however, there may be a slight delay
during busy periods, etc. In the case of
an unexpected delay, we will contact you and let
you know when you can expect your order.
Okay…Great Shot, Except
What I’m Seeing On The Web Or When I Try To
Print The Photo It Really Looks Bad. Why?
The images you see on-line
are low-resolution thumbnails and resized .jpg
images. These type files allow for faster
downloads and proofing for you. When you place
an order, the pictures you requested prints of
are individually reviewed and “worked” for
quality, clarity, color corrections, etc.
I Have A PC And A
Printer. Can You Send Me The Files And I’ll
Print Them Myself or Can’t I Just Have The
Negatives & Use My Local 1-Hr Photo Lab?
As for receiving the
“negatives” – no. Since COWBOY PIX works
exclusively in the digital domain, our
“negatives” are digital too. That is to say our
negatives are large (sometimes more than 6MB)
files.
We can send you the files, although
normally we don’t give the customer the digital
image. This is what we use to create the prints
that you order. If you must have the
digital image, there is a $25.00 per file fee,
which must be prepaid.
I Ordered A Print And
Would Like To Make Copies Of It – Can I?
The print you purchased is
copyright protected material of Cowboy Pix. If you would like to have additional copies
of a photo, contact COWBOY PIX to order
reprints. All contents, images and photographs
on this web site are copyright protected
materials.
Will My Prints That I
Order(ed) Look Better Than What I See Here?
YES! That’s the short
answer. The long answer is that the prints you
order will be individually processed to provide
clear, sharp, color correct photos. The images
you see online are raw proofs that have yet to
be processed for individual prints and might
appear dark, jagged edged, etc.
The Picture I Want To
Order Looks Slightly Blurry Or Out Of Focus.
Will It Look Better After It’s Processed?
Possibly – and here’s why.
Although the images you see on-line are
low-resolution copies of the original, a blurry
or slightly out of focus image is still going to
be blurry. Usually a blurry or “soft” image is
a result of it being slightly out of focus or it
might be motion blurred.
As you probably know, if you’ve ever tried
taking sports action shots yourself, it is a
very demanding process. We use high-tech gear
and processing to counteract the nature of
action shots, especially those taken at night.
By using large, high-speed lenses and quality
Digital-SLR cameras we have all the tools
available to capture great shots. Occasionally
though, for various reasons, an otherwise great
picture simply doesn’t turn out as well as
everyone would like. That’s one nice thing about
the way we do things at COWBOY PIX – you don’t
have to pay for developing and printing of your
film-roll to discover that only a few of the
pictures you took actually turned out. Instead,
you can order the ones you want.
You may see motion-blurred or slightly
out-of-focus shots at COWBOY PIX. This is
because it might be a one-of-a-kind shot that
when printed as a 4x6 or 5x7 would look okay.
If you have a question about a
photo and its quality, please
email us.
My Child, Friend,
Relative, Etc., Played In An Event Where You
Took Pictures, But I Don’t See Any Shots Of Them
– How Come?
We try to take pictures of
all the contestants and all the action at the events
we attend. Unfortunately, it sometimes doesn’t
work out. If you have an event or person who
you’d like pictures of, please
contact us to
discuss our upcoming schedule or to arrange for
us to attend your event. We’ll do everything we
can to accommodate your needs.
Well, I’ve Read To The

What?
Please feel free to contact
us by phone at 918-773-8865 or by
